Student Health Academy

The Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) has developed this 3-day program to provide students with an insight into a variety of health careers and to give them a taste of some practical skills, in a local context. Careers such as: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Pharmacy and many more.

Students will be provided with the opportunity to talk to local health professionals and University Health Science students and get active with some skills that health professionals do in their work. By the end of the two-day programs students will gain insight & understanding about if a career in Health is for them and what is involved in working in the Health industry.

The academies are a three day program, one day in each term, for Term 1, 2 & 3. Attendance in all terms is compulsory. There are two options of dates each term so students can select the date that suits. Dates will be advised by WACRH and students will be told in the Newsletter and/or Daily Notices when applications are open. Students are to come to the Careers Office to collect an application and register their interest in attending the program. The application form must be completed, signed by parent/guardian and returned to the Careers Office prior to the closing date. Please note that late applications will not be accepted.
