Faith and Life Programs

At  Nagle, students go on a journey that can lead them toward a full and abundant life. Our Faith and Life Program sees students engage in Retreat programs, Liturgies, sacraments, Nagle Care, or 'Pick up the Lantern' on an immersion experience, they encounter others, revealing the dignity of every human person.

Our Retreat Program aims to deliver a range of activities that are interesting and challenging for students. These out of classroom experiences helps students to develop their inner gifts and talents that are not always evident during normal school.

 Activities encompass:

  • Opportunities for personal and leadership development

  • Opportunities to acknowledge and recognise the talents of other students.

  • Opportunities to gain deeper appreciation for friends, families and teachers.

  • Recreational and educational experiences outside of the current curriculum

NAGLE CARE - CHRISTIAN SERVICE LEARNING

What is Nagle Care?
Nagle Catholic College is committed to its motto, ‘for others’. This motto goes to the core of what it means to be a Christian. Jesus in the Gospels reminded his followers that he came to serve and not be served. Therefore, an important part of being a Nagle student is to find authentic ways to live out this value of servanthood modelled by Christ.
Nagle Care is a program designed to enable students to participate in community service appropriate for their age and ability. Community service is defined as ‘Activities undertaken for the benefit of individuals and/or community for no financial reward’. The program helps Nagle students achieve some of the outcomes outlined in the Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians, in particular to:
      • Work for the common good, sustaining and improving natural and social environments
o This tethers to the Catholic Social Teaching on the common good
      • Create responsible local and global citizens
o This tethers to the Catholic Social Teaching of stewardship
